TORONTO —
xwave Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) has delivered exceptional performance in the first quarter of 2009 achieving YOY growth of 31.1%. Recent contracts in the public sector together with industry awards are indicators that 2009 will continue to build on ATS’ strong showing in 2007 and 2008.
“For the past three years, we have focused very strategically in areas such as the public sector and infrastructure consulting — building our green IT portfolio, for example — as well as driving efficiencies through solutions such as virtualization and consolidation,” said Paul Khawaja, Vice President, Advanced Technology Solutions,
xwave. “These strategies are paying off, as the demand for our green IT solutions have been remarkable and our business intelligence indicates there are many more opportunities for us to undertake.”
xwave recently secured two contracts with the Government of Canada. For Canada Revenue Agency,
xwave is upgrading and expanding CRA’s eBusiness Computing Infrastructure (eBCI). The company has played an integral role in the implementation of the eBCI, having been involved in the project since its inception in 2002. The current expansion is valued at over $10 million.
For the Department of National Defence (DND),
xwave provides UNIX servers, desktops and notebooks to support operations here at home and in the field.
xwave is a National Master Standing Offer (NMSO) supplier to the federal government and has decades of experience serving federal departments such as DND and the RCMP. For the RCMP,
is supporting its preparation for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, supplying it with almost 1,500 desktops and a single point of contact — a 1-800 helpdesk— for all support calls.
In Nova Scotia, the company has been selected to undertake infrastructure consulting for Northwood, one of eastern Canada’s largest not-for-profit providers of long-term care, independent living, home care and community outreach for older adults. For Northwood, xwave is implementing a Core Technology Program, which involves an assessment, blueprint and gap-analysis of Northwood’s business and technical environment. This will determine how that environment both supports and hinders the organization’s business objectives, and it will identify issues and activities related to mitigating risk. The Program concludes with planning and implementation to align Northwood’s IT and business goals.
“We recognize the vital role technology plays in helping an organization like Northwood operate efficiently and accountably,” said Jay MacIntyre, IT Director, Northwood. “We look forward to collaborating with xwave on this initiative — and to the results that will follow. This will be a transformational undertaking for us, one we hope will serve as the foundation for the next 50 years of service.”
xwave has also earned several recent industry accolades, most notably the Microsoft Operational Excellence Award for the fourth year running — the fifth time overall. The Award recognizes outstanding best practices and operational processes around delivery of Microsoft Volume Licensing solutions.
Additional recognition includes a fifth-place ranking in the Computer Dealer News (CDN) Top 100 Solution Providers, which acknowledges best-in-class channel partners, as well as a place among CDN’s five largest solution providers. xwave has also been named one of Canada’s Top Five Green Solution Providers by itbusiness.ca, and is in fourth place on the Branham Group’s 25 Top Canadian IT Professional Services Companies.
